By 1 July 2017, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin of Russia’s IWWs totaled 3.35 mln t (+4.3%. year-on-year), Azov-Don Basin Administration told IAA PortNews.
In January-June 2017, transportation of transit cargo grew by 1.3% to 2.843 mln t, internal turnover – by 25.6% to 505,000 t.
In the reporting period, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 2,076 vessel movements including 982 downward and 1,094 upward (versus 2,006 in the same period of 2016: 962 downward and 1,044 upward).
In June 2017, cargo traffic within Azov-Don Basin fell by 8.7% to 1.276 mln t. Transportation of heavy fuel oil dropped by 35.5% to 352,000 t while sulphur transportation grew by 26.3% to 264,000 t.
Transit cargo flow fell by 12.3% to 1.072 mln t, internal turnover – grew by 15.9% to 204,000 t.
In June 2017, Azov-Don Basin Authority registered 787 vessel movements including 388 downward and 399 upward (versus 784 in June 2016: 401 downward and 383 upward).
The total length of the waterways in the area of responsibility Azov-Don Basin Administration is 691.3 kilometers.
