According to the Chief of the RF Defence Ministry’s Navigation and Oceanography Administration Captain 1 Rank Sergey Travin, "the Hydrographic Service of the Navy is ready to efficiently perform the tasks on navigation-hydrographic, hydrometeorological and topogeodetic support of warships of all types participating the Main Naval Parade in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt."
To this end, the 6th Atlantic Oceanographic Expedition and the Lomonosov hydrographic district of the Leningrad Naval Base, with the help of the newest Project 19920 major hydrographic boat, as well as small hydrographic boats have carried out depth measurements, survey of the fairways of the Kronstadt roadstead and the water area of the Neva River, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
According to Sergey Travin, "the navigational-and-hydrographic equipment of the Main Naval Parade’s areas, which includes more than 30 lighthouses, navigational marks, floating warning marks, many of which are equipped with alternative power sources – light-energetical equipment for using the Sun energy."
He also explained that according to the results of the Main Naval Parade water areas’ survey, correction of navigational charts is being carried out, as well as recommendations have been prepared for commanders of ships and auxiliary vessels.
