  Lotus Shipyard to launch cruise ship of Project PV300VD in April 2018 (photo)

  

  Astrakhan, Russia based Lotus Shipyard (part of CNRG Group which is a USC structure) is going to complete the hull of Russia’s first cruise liner in autumn 2017 and to launch the ship in April 2018, press center of the Astrakhan Region Government cites Dmitry Antonov, Acting Director General of Lotus Shipyard, as telling Aleksandr Zhilkin, Astrakhan Region Governor.
  
  Ceremonial keel-laying of the cruise ship of Project PV300VD was held at Lotus Shipyard (anchor resident of Lotus SEZ) in August 2016. Moscow River Shipping Company is the customer of 141 m long and 16.5 m wide four-deck liner able to accommodate 310 passengers and 90 crewmembers/personnel. The floating hotel with balconies and terraces will offer 155 cabins including standard and luxury class rooms.
  
  The hull of the ship is 40% ready. The construction is underway in compliance with the schedule.  “The cruise ship hull is under construction. We have commenced assembling and welding of the aluminum superstructure today, - tells Dmitry Antonov. -  The hull is to be completed this autumn as scheduled. It will be followed by installation of equipment, electric networks etc. All the metal is of Russian origin.” The launching of the liner is scheduled for April 2018.
  
  Aleksandr Zhilkin emphasized that it is a new project for Russia. According to him, it is good for Lotus to obtain this sort of experience. The Governor also believes that the interest of Caspian states to the liner will multiply as soon as it is launched since it will be a real project to be used for orders “We hope the Casoian states will undertake it”, he added.
  
  JSC Shipyard Lotus (a subsidiary of MNP-Onshore & Offshore Group) operates two shipyards in Astrakhan region and specialized in construction of modules of topsides for offshore platforms. The company repair ships hulls, hull systems, and machinery. Since 2012 the shipyard is managed by United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC). The main shareholders are USC, Caspian Energy Group and the Government of the Astrakhan region.
