Since the beginning of 2017 JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (a company of UCL Holding) has directed 23.5 mln rbls for implementation of the social programme, which is by 25% more than during the same period of last year.
Growth of the social costs was mainly conditioned by 52% larger payments under Collective bargaining agreement (mainly financial aid and compensations to the workers), growth by 1% of expenses from the Port’s Social-purpose Fund specially dedicated to social support of port workers, as well as by 11% higher costs for personnel training.
Over 80% of the company’s funds were spent for the support of workers and their families. Expenses of the port’s employees for medical services, health resort treatment, sports and children summer holidays were compensated by the company. Financial aid was rendered to single mothers and large families.
Shortly before memorable and jubilee dates SPSP paid financial aid to veterans, people celebrating jubilee dates and active spokespersons of veterans organization. Workers awarded with the title “Veteran of the Port” got additional material bonuses upon retirement.
For kids, whose parents are working in the Seaport, the company organized entertainment-educational event. In June children visited the Bolshoi Saint-Petersburg Circus (Circus on Fontanka).
The company organized family leisure activities for the personnel - educational excursions to the cities included in the Golden Ring of Russia, to Saint-Petersburg palaces.
During 6 months of 2017, 689 port workers completed various educational programs, which is twice as large as last year. Furthermore, career-guidance lessons and practical training were held for the students of port-oriented educational institutions.
JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (part of UCL Port, stevedoring division of the international transport group UCL Holding) – the largest operator rendering services on handling of all dry cargoes in the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg. It operates modern multi-purpose terminals for general and bulk cargoes as well as specialized terminals for handling of ro-ro cargoes and containers. In the first half of 2017 the company’s cargo turnover amounted to 3.6 mln tons.
