Ice navigation restrictions at port Vysotsk (Leningrad Region) come into effect from January 29

Ice navigation restrictions at port Vysotsk (Leningrad Region) and at the approaches to it come into effect from January 29 in view of the preliminary 2017-2018 forecast for ice situation in the Gulf of Finland. With the low temperature ice thickness of 10-15 cm is expected in the water area port Vysotsk.

According to the Order of Harbour Master Aleksandr Surikov (No 02/2018-р, dated 15 January 2018), navigation of ATB units in ice waters will not be allowed from January 29.  Non-ice class ships and ice-class ships will be will be only allowed to sail in ice waters with the assistance of icebreakers. Ships of Ice1 class and higher ice classes will be allowed to sail with the assistance of icebreakers or independently upon obtaining icebreaker’s permit and recommendations.
