Mikhail Pershin has been appointed Acting Director General of Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard (part of United Shipbuilding Corporation) to replace Nikolai Zharkov. The company says the decision was made by The Board of Directors on 24 January 2018.
Mikhail Pershin has been working at the shipyard from 2001. He came to Krasnoye Sormovo having graduated from Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. Between 2001 and 2007, Mikhail Pershin was at senior positions when taking part in construction and testing of 17310 and 19614 project ships, was in charge of the delivery of 19614 and 19612А project tankers.
In 2007, Mikhail Pershin was appointed the Construction Manager, in 2014 – Executive Director of Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard. Was responsible for the development of civil shipbuilding, managed the construction of new type vessels for transport companies of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenia and Turkey: tankers of 19619, RST22, 19900, RST27 projects (the largest series of tankers in the recent history of domestic shipbuilding), RST27M and TSHD1000 projects.
Mikhail Pershin is the Nizhny Novgorod Award winner (for designing and construction of 19619 project tankers).
Krasnoye Sormovo PJSC is one of the oldest shipbuilding companies in Russia, founded in 1849. Throughout the 75-year period, more than three hundred submarines and rescue vehicles including 25 nuclear ones have been built and modernized by Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard. Today, Krasnoye Sormovo builds vessels of commercial fleet meeting the requirements of international conventions on reliability and safety. Some of Krasnoye Sormovo tankers are in the list of Significant Ships of the Year by the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA).
