From the beginning of icebreaker assistance season at the port of Rostov-on-Don (14 January 2018) the services were provided to 12 convoys consisting of 169 vessels, Deputy Harbour Master of Rostov-on-Don port Vladimir Kalashnikov told IAA PortNews.
According to him, six convoys consisting of 75 units were escorted to the port and six convoys consisting of 94 units were escorted from the port to the Azov Sea.
Cargo transshipment at the port of Rostov-on-Don (as of 25 January 2018) totaled 817,000 t, which accounts for 64-65% of the plan announced by stevedoring companies.
Total throughput of the port between 1 December 2017 and 25 January 2018 is 2.384 mln t vs 4 mln t planned for winter season of 2017-2018. So, winter plan has been fulfilled by 58-59%.
