Krasnoye Sormovo shipyard delivers chemical tanker ‘Balt Flot 19’, Project RST27M, to BF Tanker (photo)
On 3 May 2018, Nizhny Novgorod, Russia based shipyard Krasnoye Sormovo (part of United Shipbuilding Corp.) delivered the Balt Flot 19, the forth chemical tanker Project RTS27M, to BF Tanker..
Tripartite agreement between Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard, the State Transport Leasing Company and BF Tanker for the construction of five chemical tankers (Project RST27M) was signed in December 2016.
The Balt Flot 19 was launched in December 2017. It is the fourth of five tankers delivered to BF Tanker over the recent 6 months. The vessel is registered at Big Port St. Petersburg.
The Balt Flot 20 launched in February 2018 has undergone mooring and sea trials and will be delivered to the customer in the nearest future.
The RST27M is a modification of Project RST27 with increased capacity by more than 800 tonne. This series tankers equipped with six cargo tanks are able to transport simultaneously three types of products: crude oil, oil products and noxious liquid bulk substances.
The vessels are designed for mixed (river-sea) navigation. Main particulars of Project RST27M: LOA: 140.8 m, breadth: 16.86 m, DWT in fresh water (draft 3.6 m): 5,337 tonnes, DWT in salt water (draft 4.6 m): 7,875 tonnes. The vessel was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau to RS class: КМ Ice1 1 R2 AUT1-ICS OMBO VCS ECO-S Oil tanker/Chemical tanker type 2 (ESP). Detailed design was provided by Nizhny Novgorod based engineering firm Volga-Caspian Design Bureau.
Krasnoye Sormovo PJSC is one of the oldest shipbuilding companies in Russia, founded in 1849.
