Finland considers it necessary to extend agreement with Russia on cooperation in icebreaker assistance

Arctia Ltd., state operator of icebreakers in Finland, believes that the Agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Finland on Cooperation and Interaction in Icebreaker Assistance in the Baltic Sea is necessary amid severe winter conditions. That was stated by Eero Hokkanen, Communications Manager at Arctia Ltd., when answering the question of IAA PortNews. “We will be glad if this agreement is extended”, said Eero Hokkanen.

Under the mentioned agreement, Russia and Finland cooperated in icebreaker assistance during 2017-2018 winter navigation season.
