Container Terminal St. Petersburg in 1Q invested more than € 3.5 million in development, upgrade programme
Container Terminal Saint Petersburg (CTSP, part of UCL Holding’s stevedoring division UCL Port) in the first quarter of 2018, invested a total of RUB 256 million (EUR 3,535,360) under the development program in modernization of the terminal capacity, press office of CTSP said on Thursday.
The bulk of this money was spent on improving the terminal infrastructure, container handling equipment and other capabilities.
The stevedoring company has purchased new equipment for handling operations and for administrative purposes, upgraded the CTSP’s IT and security systems. To ensure industrial safety, EHS, particularly to avoid container handlers fall-off, tip-over accidents, one of the berth was outfitted with a detachable fender beam. In the three-month period of the year, the terminal operator continued installation of the terminal’s video surveillance system and improvement of the facility’s IT infrastructure.
