Admiral/ Mohamed Youssef, head of land and maritime transport holding company has signed an agreement with giant entities in the field of maritime transport and they are Suez Canal authority, Dubai Ports and the holding company, pointing out that transport ministry has invited for the project of the dry port establishment at 6th October city which is a very important project and is considered an added value to trade traffic and its handling outside maritime ports.
He added that ports are mainly for crossing traffic and not cargo storage, hence examining and storing of cargo and handling it is outside normal ports on an area of land so called dry port, pointing that 6th October port lightens the burden on maritime Alexandria port and will be linked with a railway line to be distributed all over the republic.
