Port of Oakland import volume flat in May 2018
Port of Oakland import cargo volume in May was unchanged from a year ago. The Port handled 82,465 TEUs of import cargo last month, nearly identical to container statistics from May 2017. A TEU is a 20-foot equivalent unit, which is a standard measure in the container shipping industry, the company said in its press release.
Export volume last month declined 8.3 percent. For all of 2018, Port of Oakland total cargo volume is up 1.7 percent.
