Cargo turnover of Murmansk Commercial Seaport down 16% in January 07

In January 2007, Murmansk Commercial Seaport handled 917.243 thou tons of different cargo (-16%, year-on-year), the company reports. The port handled 34 vessels and 15 656 wagons including 12 630 wagons with coal. Volume of export exceeded that of 2006 by 18.4% amounting to 869.077 thou tons including 714.6 thou tons of coal, 119.7 thou tons of apatite, 22.3 thou tons of nonferrous metal.  Turnover of general cargo totaled 73.7 thou tons (221.9% against January 2006), dry bulk cargo - 843.6 thou tons (+20.0% compared to January 2006).
