In January-September 2018, the port of Rostov-on-Don handed 18.4 million tonnes of cargo (+19%, year-on-year), the port’s statistics shows.
The Harbour Master’s office says loading grew by 24% to 12.3 million tonnes which 67% of the port’s total throughput.
In the reporting period, transit totaled 5.5 million tonnes (+11%, year-on-year).
Unloading has thus dropped by 14% to 480,000 tonnes, down 23%, year-on-year.
In the 9-month period, transshipment of grain grew by 77% to 8.7 million tonnes, transshipment of oil products climbed by 6% to 5.7 million tonnes, transshipment of coal fell by 18% to 1 million tonnes.
The number of calls totaled 6,326 units.
