Multipurpose Reloading Complex (Ust-Luga) handled 3.96 million tonnes in 9M’18, down 5% Y-o-Y

In the 9-moths period of 2018, Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC (MRC, a company of UCL Holding) operating in the port of Ust-Luga (Leningrad Region) handled 3.96 million tonnes of cargo, which is 5% less as compared with the same period of 2017. Handling of steam coal totaled 3.84 million tonnes, petcoke — 115,000 tonnes.

Total result should be attributed to export plans of cargo owner and limited shipping due to challenging ice situation in the beginning of the year. The negative dynamics slowed down in the third quarter. In September, cargo flow surged by 41% versus September 2017.

In the reporting period, average daily handling of railcars totaled 203 units with maximum result as high as 316 railcars per day. In 9M’2018 MRC handled 55,351 open-top railcars and 117 cargo vessels.

Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC (MRC, a company of UCL Port, stevedoring division of the international transportation group UCL Holding) is a cargo terminal in the port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region, specializing in unloading, storage and loading of general and bulk cargoes. The main cargo is export power coal. In 2017, OOO MRC handled 5.5 million tonnes of cargo.
