Russian Navy’s training ship Perekop makes routine call to Limassol

The Russian Navy’s training ship Perekop makes a routine call to the port of Limassol (Cyprus) from 27 to 28 October, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. There are over 250 cadets of higher naval educational institutions on board who are undergoing planned training as part of a distant cruise designed by the Russian Navy High Command.

The training ship Perekop will moor at the pier of the port of Limassol before noon of 27 October.

Having completed the routine call, the ship will continue to sail along the approved route around Europe, then call at the Baltic Fleet’s main base of Baltiysk.

The Perekop is scheduled to arrive at her permanent stationing site of Kronstadt in mid-November.

Admiral Vladimir Korolyov, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, ordered the Navy High Command and the leadership of the Navy’s Military Educational Scientific Centre to organise a solemn meeting of the ship after her 8-months distant cruise is over (including the Northern Sea Route’s passing).
