The sea phase of the Indra Navy 2018 bilateral Russian-Indian naval exercise with the participation the PF flagship Guards Order of Nakhimov missile cruiser Varyag, the major ASW ship Admiral Panteleyev and the large ship tanker Boris Butoma of the Pacific Fleet and 6 warships and vessels of the Indian Navy continues today in the Bay of Bengal near the Indian port of Visakhapatnam, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
In the first half of the day, practical training was conducted as part of the inspection operation, where the servicemen of the Pacific Fleet Marine Troops and the Indian Navy Special Forces involved. During the training, standard procedures for questioning suspicious vessels, disembarkation of inspection teams and their actions on the vessel’s board were worked out.
Then it is planned to conduct tactical maneuvering of the warships of the Russian and Indian Navy with changing in various lines for joint photography, which will be conducted by the Russian Ka-27PL helicopter and the Indian Navy Chetak light utility helicopter.
Exercises on a joint search for the submarine of the mock enemy, which role will perform the Indian Sindhukirti diesel submarine, are also to be held today.
A day earlier, the seamen of the two countries carried out flights of deck helicopters over the sea, improved practical skills for replenishing water and fuel reserves from tankers on the move.
The Indra Navy 2018 Russian-Indian naval exercise is to be held in the Bay of Bengal from December 13 to December 16. More than 10 warships and support vessels of the two countries, Indian Navy aircraft and helicopters, as well as the helicopter of the major ASW ship Admiral Panteleyev will be involved in the training of tasks at various phases of the Indra Navy 2018 Russian-Indian naval exercise.
