The Admiral Essen frigate of the Navy’s Black Sea Fleet (BSF) arrived in Sevastopol on December 26, 2018 after a nearly 300-day mission in the Mediterranean Sea, the Southern Military District press office said.
The Black Sea Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Alexander Moiseev led the solemn ceremony in Sevastopol dedicated to the warship arrival from a long voyage. The ceremony was attended by the naval forces command and veterans, representatives of the City Administration and the families of the ship crew.
The frigate has performed tasks as part of Russia’s permanent group of warships the Mediterranean Sea from August 2018. The crew took part in the fleet exercises under the leadership of the Russian Navy’s Commander-in-Chief in the Mediterranean Sea, conducted exercises, including gun fire on surface and air targets and anti-submarine tasks.
