ESL Shipping's Sustainability Report 2018 published

SL Shipping says it has published its Sustainability Report 2018. The year was transformational for the company. “Our climate-smart newbuildings debuted spectacularly by sailing to the Baltic Sea via Northeast Passage and we completed the acquisition of AtoB@C Shipping”, says the statement.

"Five years ago we set revolutionary emission reduction targets for our newbuildings. Our comprehensive energy saving approach combined with the latest technology resulted in 50 % saving in CO2-emissions.  I am proud to say we are real front-runners and are re-shaping the shipping industry together with our clients", comments Managing Director Mikki Koskinen the successful year.

To underline the practical sustainability work onboard and our expertise in Arctic conditions, this year's report is built around the log book from Haaga's maiden voyage from Japan to Sweden via Northeast Passage. Full log book from the voyage will be published on our website during the spring.

ESL Shipping Ltd is the leading carrier of dry bulk cargoes in the Baltic region. Our main clients are the power generation, steel and chemical industries to whom we carry raw materials such as coal, iron ore and limestone.
