Multipurpose Reloading Complex boosts investments in environment protection 15 times to RUB 8 million

From the beginning of 2019, Multipurpose Reloading Complex LLC (MRC, a company of UCL Holding) invested over RUB 8 million in environment protection measures, 15 times as much as in the same period of the previous year.

The growth should be attributed to the company’s purchase of a local sprinkling system for its new transshipment equipment. The system creates a water cloud over the grab thereby preventing spreading of coal particles beyond the transshipment zone. The equipment has already been tested and proved to be highly efficient. By the end of 2019, MRC is going to equip three more transshipment machines with similar systems.

While performing its daily activities the company pays close attention to compliance with environmental safety standards and conducts regular analytical monitoring of air and waste water quality as well as the noise level. From the beginning of 2019, the company has introduced additional preventive measures to exclude detrimental impact on the environment. In particular, the company has increased the frequency of noise measurements from quarterly to monthly based monitoring performed by its Industrial Ecology Control Service and a specialized accredited laboratory. The measurements are now made not only in daytime but also in night hours. The number of parameters for evaluation of air quality in the sanitary protection zone has increased from 5 to 12.

According to the measurements, MRC impact on the environment complies with the standards thereof.
