House of Fraser turns to Kuehne + Nagel for furniture deliveries
Kuehne + Nagel has started arranging home delivery services for UK and Ireland customers of the House of Fraser's made-to-order furniture business in a bid to raise the efficiency of the retailer's current home service systems.
Under the terms of the contract, Kuehne + Nagel will take care of warehousing and make around 30,000 deliveries each year.
The arrangement is expected to create a leaner supply chain for House of Fraser by the closer alignment to delivery time, as well as achieve cost savings through reduced inventory using Kuehne + Nagel's IT and booking processes.
Kuehne + Nagel's dedicated furniture distribution network is used by other major furniture retailers in the UK for more than 175,000 home deliveries each year, a company statement said.
