Marine Recruiting Agency trained 851 specialists in 1H’2019, up 4% YoY

In the first half of 2019, Marine Recruiting Agency LLC (MRA) trained 851 specialists of stevedoring and road-building industries, 4% more than in the same period of 2018. The most popular were the “dock engineer” and “slingsman” courses selected by 141 and 123 people accordingly, the Agency says in a press release.

Also in demand were other port professions: mooring man, loader driver (including container truck drivers, truck-tractor and reachstacker drivers), crane operator, bunkering man, operator of shiploading machine, operator of scraper reclaimer.

All in all, Marine Recruiting Agency has developed over 50 training packages. Basic professional education programme includes training, retraining and advanced professional training of dock engineers, slingsmen, crane operators, tallymen, mooring men, operators of port and road-building vehicles. Additional professional programme offers training covering labour safety, basics of fire safety, safety of working at height. “Dock engineer”, “slingsman” and “tallyman” courses are available for remote training. Special programmes have been developed for students of industry focused educational institutions. From the beginning of the year, they were offered to 75 students undergoing practical training at the port of Saint-Petersburg who thus obtained additional qualifications.

Marine Recruiting Agency LLC is a recruiting company representing interests of transport logistic, construction and other companies of North-Western region in sphere of recruiting, training and provision of temporary personnel. MRA was established in 2001 and is a subsidiary Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC. From 2016 the company is accredited by Federal Service on Labour and Employment for performing the activities related to provision of personnel. 

The Agency has its own Training Centre with its own technical infrastructure. Its functions are primary training, re-qualification and advanced training on the basis of various educational programmes.

Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg JSC (a company of UCL Port – stevedoring division of the International Transportation Group UCL Holding) is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes at Big Port St. Petersburg. It operates modern multipurpose specialized terminals for handling of general and bulk cargoes and specialized terminals for ro-ro cargoes and containers.
