Seaports bound exports loaded across RZD network rose 2% to more than 177.2 million tonnes
The loading of export freight bound for Russian seaports on the railway network of state-owned Russian Railways (RZD) in the seven-month period (January-July) of the year exceeded 177.2 million tonnes, which is a 2% growth on the same period 2018, the RZD press office said.
Loading of export coal increased by 9.1%, while the loaded volume of commodity bound for the country’s southern ports jumped by 30%. Coal exports with destination the ports of the North-West rose 8.7%, and to the Far East - by 6.5%.
The share of coal in export freight traffic exceeded 50%, of crude oil - 26.6%, of ferrous metals – 7.4% and fertilizers - 6.7%.
In the seven-month period, loading of export goods bound for the ports of the North-West totaled 74.7 million tonnes (+ 1.8%, yoy). About 42.7 million tonnes (-1.3%) were delivered to the southern ports. Exports volume with destination the ports in the Far East exceeded 59.8 million tonnes (+ 4.8%).
