Sea Port of St. Petersburg JSC increased by one third spending on labour protection
In the first half of 2019 JSC “Sea Port of St. Petersburg” (SP SPb) allocated more than 21.7 million rubles on occupational safety and health measures, which is 37% more than similar expenses for the same period of 2018.
Most of the funds were transferred to employees within the framework of the company's obligations in accordance with the requirements of the labour legislation of the Russian Federation and the Collective labour agreement. In particular, SP SPb paid more than 13 million rubles - 45% more than a year earlier - as reimbursement of the performance of certain types of work and works in harmful conditions, payment for additional holidays and compensation payments for the dairy products.
The expenses of SP SPb for the purchase of overalls, safety shoes and other personal protective equipment, as well as for medical support of workers in accordance with labour protection requirements, increased by 27% and amounted to almost 8 million rubles.
In order to protect workers from possible industrial injuries and to ensure compliance with labour protection rules at the enterprise, the responsible port services carried out measures to improve the safety culture, production control and conducted training activities.
