The agreement on establishing of a new training center for training and development of Caterpillar equipment technical maintenance has been signed in St. Petersburg. It was a result of long-term negotiations between Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping and Caterpillar Eurasia company, says press center of the University.
The brand new modern training center aims to form the educational structure in Russia ensuring the advanced training and qualification improvement for the technical specialists, dealers and customers, executing maintenance and repair of Caterpillar equipment is Russia and other countries in compliance with the standards and requirements of Caterpillar company. As well as to enhance the University’s technical base tоensure meeting the highest possible standards of marine specialists professional development.
In order to develop mutually beneficial cooperation and further skills development of Caterpillar mechanics, the company will assist in providing the training center with new training orders and will supply all the necessary technical means of training and real equipment. This project suggests a long-term and successful cooperation .
The contract, signed by the rector of Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping Sergey Baryshnikovand the General Director of Caterpillar Eurasia Vladislav Demidenko, provides the supply, installation and commissioning of modern diesel generators, main switchboards, and other learning means and manuals, and the formation and implementation of the training center’s human resources development programme.
The new generation training center, opening on the base of the Professional Development Programmes Institute, will improve the material and technical baseof Admiral Makarov University.
The history of cooperation between Сaterpillar Eurasia LLC and «Makarovka» has more than 20 years. The first successful project of the organization of joint training courses for specialists was implemented in 1998. Further technological development in engines manufacturing process demanded a «reset» of the project.
