Vattenfall awards Bibby HydroMap second UXO survey on the Hollandse Kust Zuid Wind Farm Zone. The UK-based seabed survey company have commenced operations on the 760MW Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) Wind Farm Zone Sites III & IV on behalf of their client Vattenfall.
The news comes after Vattenfall was announced as the winner of the site with a subsidy free bid in July 2019, with construction scheduled for 2022.
Bibby HydroMap have been operational on Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) Wind Farm Zone Sites I & II since March 2019, and the new project follows a similar multi-vessel approach which proved effective on the initial UXO campaign. Bibby Tethra and Bibby Athena will together acquire over 5,000-line km of high-density magnetometer, side scan sonar, multibeam echosounder and parametric sub-bottom data over the Dutch wind farms. Both vessels will be equipped with a comparable suite of sensors, including dual EIVA ScanFish ROTVs each accommodating four magnetometers designed to provide a dense magnetometer dataset across key locations of the site.
Bibby HydroMap’s recent charter of SeaZip Fix will also aid acquisition across the sites acquiring ultra-high-resolution seismic data over the Dutch sites, providing key information to inform the design and construction of the site.
