Russia should find export outlets for ship components produced by domestic and localized manufactures, IAA PortNews correspondent cites USC President Aleksey Rakhmanov, as saying at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok while commenting on RF Government Decree No 719 that sets forth criteria to define ships as of Russian origin depending on local content of equipment.
“It is quite evident that even if we take everything produced by Zvezda, USC and private companies operating outside the corporation, we are not likely to get the economically efficient amount for a deep production. Nevertheless, we understand that it took the Government of Russia long time, about two years to discuss the Decree No 719... and that sets a focus for Russia to achieve something achieve by our global competitors, primarily Korean shipbuilders. The higher is the shipbuilder’s control of added value the easier it is to play in the market. That is unquestionable. So ... we should finally find an outlet beyond our national markets – then everything promises well”, said Aleksey Rakhmanov.
