In January-August 2019, port Kavkaz handled 22.356 million tonnes of cargo (-30%, year-on-year). According to statistics obtained by IAA PortNews regional correspondent from the port Authority, exports via the port’s offshore transshipment facility decreased by 19% to 9.132 million tonnes.
Exports from port Kavkaz surged 2.1 times to 1.117 million tonnes while imports plunged by 65% to 43,000 tonnes, short-sea traffic – by 40% to 11.874 million tonnes.
Transshipment of coal grew 3.2 times to 2.916 million tonnes, sulfur – 2.9 times to 2.311 million tonnes. Meanwhile, transshipment of oil products fell by 17% to 6.720 million tonnes, grain transshipment dropped by 38% to 9.202 million tonnes.
Bunker sales at port Kavkaz fell by 25% to 200,000 tonnes.
The number of calls to port Kavkaz fell 3.7 times to 4,839 calls.
