Regional Container Lines (RCL) has agreed to sell its 500-teu containership Bhatra Bhum (built 1978) for THB93.75m ($2.5m).
The Bangkok-based intra-Asian liner operator is selling the ship to its appointed agent in Indonesia, PT Bintika Bangunusa.
RCL said it expected the deal for the gearless feeder container vessel to be completed by the end of October 2006.
The Thai shipowner said the containership’s disposal was intended to improve the age profile of the group’s fleet.
Last month RCL arranged a $40m 10-year loan with DnB NOR Bank ASA to help pay for two container feederships building in China.
