Transas to equip oil tanker manufactured by Krasnoye Sormovo
On October 12, 2006 Transas signed a contract with Krasnoye Sormovo Shipyard (MNP Group) on delivery of a radio navigation set for oil tanker being built for Safinat Shipping. 19619-project tanker if 13110/12860 dwt tons is designed for transportation of oil and oil products. It may carry two types of oil products simultaneously and head up high-viscosity oil products for convenient discharge. Design feature of the tanker is its possibility to leave terminals without tug. New tanker is to be equipped with complete set of navigation devices including internal communications and pilot control consoles. The equipment is to be delivered in May 2007. The vessel is to be delivered to the customer late in the year.
It is the seventh vessel of 19619 series to be equipped by Transas. From 2004 till 2006 Transas has equipped 6 vessels of this project. From September till November 2004 Krasnoye Sormovo delivered the following vessels build to the order of Caspian Shipping: Geidar Aliev, Babek, Shakh Ismail Khatai; in 2006 the hulls of Koroglu and De De Gorgud were delivered. This year Transas has already equipped the Mahmud Afandi vessel build to the order of Safinat company.
