Tender Committee of Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development considering candidates for creation of special economic zones of port type (port SEZ) selected two airport zones (Krasnoyarsk and Ulyanovsk) and one port zone in Khabarovsk Territory (Sovetskaya Gavan).
According to the press center of the Federal Agency for SEZ Management, the Committee’s expert council considered 17 bids.
Airport Yemelyanovo (Krasnoyarsk) has well developed infrastructure with the ability to handle all types of aircrafts, fuel complex with annual capacity of 400,000 tonnes of fuel, aircraft maintenance depot and cargo terminal with annual capacity of 85,000 tonnes of cargo. Yemelyanovo SEZ will enable Russia to struggle for redistribution of Asian cargo flows.
Airport Ulyanovsk-Vostochny is fitted with up-to-date light signal equipment and has a 5.1-km long runway for all types of aircrafts. Besides throughput growth Ulyanovsk SEZ is to contribute to wider application and development of the city’s aircraft repair complex.
As for Sovetskaya Gavan, it has a convenient geographical location. SEZ in Sovetskaya Gavan would facilitate the development of projects on repair of vessels and fish processing.
