RussiaA's TransContainer said it is considering setting up a joint venture with Kazakhstan's Temir Zholy which would undertake container service that would bring together traffic streamsб RZD-Partner reports.
The joint venture is expected to be financed with US$100,000-US$150 000 and operate as an agent providing logistics services.
In the second stage, railway rolling stock may be acquired and container terminals will possibly be built in central Russia and Kazakhstan.
The JV intends to centralise cargo flows from Kazakhstan and central Asia on the expectation that the traffic on these routes will increase 20 per cent a year.
