CMA CGM and CSCL to launch new Asia-Europe service

CMA CGM will launch a new service called FAL4 linking Asia and Europe in partnership with China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) on July 9.
The FAL4 will deploy eight 9,700-TEU vessels calling at Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Nansha, Port Kelang, Zeebrugge, Hamburg, Rotterdam and Shanghai.
The new service joins existing FAL services on the Asia-Europe route – FAL1, FAL2 and FAL3 – and offers a new call at Nansha, in the expanding Pearl River Delta region.
The service will also include a new inbound call at Zeebrugge as the first discharge call in Europe, and a non-stop connection between Rotterdam and Shanghai.
The first CMA CGM vessel deployed on the FAL4 will be the CMA CGM Orfeo, scheduled to leave Shanghai on July 22.
The carrier will later deploy the CMA CGM Ivanhoe, the Pelleas, and the Butterfly, its latest generation of 9,700-TEU vessels.
