MMRP OJSC Cargo turnover up by 41%, Jan.-Oct. 2009

Cargo turnover of Murmansk sea fishing port OJSC (MMRP OJSC) increased by 41% (up to 220,000 tons) within 10 months 2009, as compared to the corresponding period of 2008, informed press-service of the stevedoring company with reference to Anton Artemiev, CEO Assistant of MMRP OJSC. In October, 2009 cargo turnover of MMRP OJSC amounted to 24,000 tons which is 71% more as compared to the corresponding period of 2008.


‘In November we are planning to handle about 20,000 tons of fish. Mid-tonnage fleet completes fishing reaching the rest of quota and comes back to the ports of origin. The berths are prepared, there is enough space for repair and anchorage. The port continues an active preparation for spring capelin fishing season to the date. Facilities repair is being carried out. Several variants of forklift trucks rent are being considered,’ stated Anton Artemiev.


Murmansk sea fishing port OJSC is a modern highly mechanized enterprise of Northern region specialized in reloading of fishing boats, floating factories and refrigerators. Productive capacity of the port is comprised of 56 portal cranes with capacity of  3 – 20 tones, 12 frame, crawler, truck cranes, 47 forklift trucks, 267 forklift trucks of various modifications. 100% shares of MMRP OJSC are owned by the Russian Federation represented by Federal Agency for Federal Property Management and Specialized state enterprise of the RF Government Russian Fund of Federal Property.
