Oil export via KTK up by 11.6%, Jan-Oct. 2009

Oil export via Caspian Pipeline Consortium (KTK) increased by 11.6% (up to 28.7 mln. tons) in January-October, 2009 as compared to the corresponding period of 2008, stated Russian Oil with reference to information provided by consortium. In October current year oil export increased by 2.7% (up to 2.94 mln. tons) against the same month 2008.

КТК owns the only private pipeline in the territory of the former USSR that links Tengiz fieldwith export terminal near Novorossiisk port in the Black Sea. The pipeline system stretchedfor 1.58 thousand km. In 2008 КТК reduced volumes of exported oil by 3.4% - to 31.5 mln. tons. The oil is shipped vis terminal Uzhnaya Ozereika-2the port of Novorossiisk.

Russia owns 31% in КТК, Kazakhstan - 19%. Other shareholders are Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company - 15%, LUKARCO B.V. - 12,5%, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company - 7,5%, Rosneft-Shell Caspian Ventures Limited - 7,5%, BG Overseas Holding Limited - 2%, Eni International N.A. N.V. - 2%, Kazakhstan Pipeline Ventures LLC - 1,75% and Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC - 1,75%.
