ABG Shipyard Q2 net soars 75.84%

ABG Shipyard, the Indias largest ship building company reported a rise in the net profit of 75.84 % for the second quarter ended Sep. 30, 2009. During the quarter, the company reported the profit of Rs 458.60 million from Rs. 260.80 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
In the same quarter, net sales of the company stood at Rs 4,015.80 million, a rise of 43.32 % over the same period last year.
The company reported earnings of Rs 9.01 a share as compared to Rs 5.12 a share in Q2FY09. EBIDTA for Q2FY10 at Rs 1,166.90 million, up by 62.23 % from Rs 719.30 million.
In the first-half of the fiscal, net sales was at Rs 7,946.90 million a gain of 43.85 % as against Rs 552.44 million in H1FY09, while net profit in the first six months of FY10 was at Rs 937.80 million a rise of 28.30 % compared to Rs 730.90 million recorded in the year-ago corresponding period.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.35, or 0.19%, to trade at Rs 186.55. The total volume of shares traded was 33,239 at the BSE (4.00 p.m., Friday).
