Yuznhy Customs post increases its throughput

The measures taken by an ad-hoc committee to tackle the backlog of cargo-laden trucks at the Yuzhny (South) station of St. Petersburg Customs helped a twofold increase in throughput at the post, the Committee on Transport and Transit policy of St. Petersburg Govt. said.

PortNews reported last week over situation at one of the major St. Petersburg’s terminals, Yuzhny. The customs post capable to process 100-200 trucks a day, troubled by an increased trade flow, saw a 4-km line of trucks accumulated on the Moscow highway. Truck drivers had to wait for at least 5 days in the line.
