Last October, a British Mann Lines ferry delivered to the terminal roll-trailers with the 1600-ton construction equipment for the new stadium of Zenit, a Russian soccer club. This year, Mann Lines ferries’ regular arrivals are expected at the Terminal.
In August 2009, as part of an ongoing development project, the design of a universal outdoor warehouse facility for storage of goods on the roll-trailers was developed. The project design means an automated system of inventory control at the terminal. That would ensure high handling rate and better control of cargoes storage.
The Sea Port of St. Petersburg Group incorporates First Stevedoring Company CJSC, Second Stevedoring Company CJSC, Third Stevedoring Company CJSC, Fourth Stevedoring Company CJSC, Universal Transshipment Complex Ust-Luga, and several service companies owned by Universal Cargo Logistics Holding.
FSC’s Ro-Ro Terminal was built as part of the development program of Sea Port St. Petersburg. The Terminal provides handling services for the most profitable types of cargoes. The Company’s handling facilities ensure an annual volumes increase of the Group up to 20 million tons. The Terminal production capacity allows transshipment of 1 million tons a year. It handles a broad range of Ro-Ro cargoes: autos, roll-trailers, tractor-trailer trucks and tractors, transported from the terminal via a check-point by road or railroad. The Group has allocated some 780m rubles for completion of the first phase of the terminal.
