Dutch and Bulgarian ships collide in the North Sea

Andries de Vries, a Dutch fishing vessel and Kaliakra, a Bulgaria bulk cargo carrier (operated by Cosmos Shipping AD) clashed early morning yesterday in the North Sea off the coast of Holland, Korabel.ru reports.

The 25.560dwt bulker hit starboard of Andries de Vries. The fishing boat got a breach above the waterline. One of the crew members fell overboard and was reportedly rescued with minor injuries. The Coast Guard and a rescue boat had the Dutch ship escorted to the nearest port. Most likely the Denmark-bound Malta-flagged bulker will be detained in the Denmark to investigate into the accident.
