Russian Govt. lists checkpoints for exported wood products

The Russian government in its decree of 15 July 2010 N521 established several checkpoints across the border of the Russian Federation for certain categories of outbound goods. This applies to products (codes of Foreign Trade Nomenclature of Goods of Customs Union (FTNG CU) 4401, 4403, 4404, 4406), exported by road, railroad and water transport. The document was posted on the official Russian Government’s website.

The Order does not apply to products with the codes mentioned above if they are exported from the Russian Federation in accordance with special customs procedure; intended for use and display at exhibitions, fairs, international meetings and other similar events; are needed to ensure normal operation and maintenance of Russian sea (river) vessels during their stay outside the territory of the Russian Federation; exported from the Russian Federation in accordance with the Customs procedure of re-export, if such goods have arrived earlier in the territory of the Russian Federation, were at the arrival place or at the customs control zone, located in the immediate vicinity of the place of arrival, and have not been placed under any customs procedure.

The decree comes into force one month after its official publication. "The list of checkpoints across the state border of the Russian Federation for export from the territory of the Russian Federation of certain types of goods" is downloadable here (Russian version).

Note:

FTNG CU Code 4401 "Fuel wood, in the form of logs, sticks, twigs, fagots, or in similar forms: wood chips or wood shavings, sawdust and wood waste and scrap, non- agglomerated or agglomerated in the form of logs, briquettes, pellets or similar forms".

FTNG CU Code 4403 “Rough wood, with a removed or non-removed bark or sapwood, or roughly squared or non-squared.

FTNG CU Code TC 4404 "Coopery wood, split logs, piles, poles and stakes of wood, pointed but not sawn along, lumber, rough-hewn, but not machined, not bent or not treated in another way, used for the production of walking sticks, umbrellas , handles for tools or similar products, peeled lumber, or similar one.

FTNG CU Code 4406 "Wooden ties for railways or tramways”.
