Russian port of Ust-Luga has become the leading port in six-month freight traffic growth trends among the Baltic Sea, the Klaipeda Port Authority summary report said.
In January-June the Russian Ust-Luga port’s throughput rose by 30%, Port of Tallinn comes next with a 16.5-percent growth, the third - the Big Port of St. Petersburg (+16.4%). Lithuanian port of Klaipeda also demonstrated the positive dynamics - a14.5-percent gain. Other major ports of the region reported a slight decline in six-month freight volumes. Russia's Vyborg port showed a 9% drop, Latvia's Ventspils’ throughput fell 8.3% Liepaja -1.5%, Primorsk -0.3%.
