Container lines hike rates from SE Asia to Australia

Box lines serving the Southeast Asia and South Asia to Australia trades are planning a series of rate hikes next year. Thirteen lines of the trade have announced a series of three rate increases in 2011. From 15 January a minimum $200 per teu increase, from 1 August a minimum $300 per teu hike, and a further $300 teu increase from 1 October. In addition a $250 per teu peak season surcharge is expected to be implemented in September next year.
