Shipbuilder OSX Brasil expands operations

Shipbuilder OSX Brasil has revealed that it will build a shipyard with South Korea's Hyundai HI in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro state.
In a public statement, OSX said that it has chosen a site at the Port of Acu that is currently under construction by LLX Logistica.
Both companies are controlled by Eike Batista.
According to reports, the Acu site was selected over a site at Bigacu in Brazil's southern state of Santa Catarina.
OSX plans to build approximately 48 ships, oil platforms and numerous other vessels for Batista-controlled OGX Petroleo e Gas, Brazil's second-largest oil company.
According to Batista, OSX is also looking to expand its contract based with companies such as government-led oil company Petrobras.
