Box traffic via FCT in Jan-Nov up 25.4% to over 1m TEUs

Container throughput of St. Petersburg-based First Container Terminal in January-November 2010 amounted to 1,067,686 TEUs, or a 25.4 percent growth from the 11-month period of 2009, the press service of National Container Company (manager of FCT) reported.

In November, container traffic via the terminal rose to 106,188 TEUs (+4.3%). FCT loaded 50,780 TEUs for export and offloaded 55,408 TEUs of imports. Reefer containers monthly volume amounted to 13,539 TEUs.

In November, the terminal handled 72 vessels, the average turnover per vessel amounted to 1,475 TEUs.

In 2009, box traffic passing through NCC’s terminals amounted to some 1.2 million TEUs, contributing 42.1% to total container throughput of Russian seaports.
