KSCP’s cargo turnover jumps 43.2% in Jan-Nov to 2,85m tons

Freight volume handled by JSC Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port (KSCP) in the 11-month period of this year increased by 43.2% compared to the same period last year to 2,852,040 tons, the stevedoring company’s statistics said.

In the reporting period handling of exports soared 56% from the same period a year earlier to 2,065,800 tons. The volume includes 395,040 tons of petroleum products (+7.5%) 1,182,800 tons of ferrous metals (up 1.7 times), 184,300 tons of coal and coke (+18%).
Transshipment of inbound goods surged in Jan-Nov 46.8% to 786.6 tons, the company said.

However, KSCP’s monthly output slightly fell, by 2.2% this November to 237,100 tons of different nomenclature. In particular, exported cargoes shrank by 24.3% to 146,700 tons, while imports volume jumped 1.86 times, up to 90,400 tons.

Kaliningrad Sea Commercial Port JSC is the stevedore company operating at the Port of Kaliningrad, which is a hub for almost all types of transport and major export-import freight flows passing through the Russian North-West region. In 2009, KSCP’s cargo throughput was reported at 2,186,100 tons.
