Offshore transshipment of exported sulfur jumped by 1.6 times to 2.92 million tons, of fuel oil - grew by 11.2% to 1.29 million tons, of grain - increased by 31% to 472,890 tons, while fertilizer volume fell by 29% to 263,670 tons.
In November, the port handled 811,890 tons, a 6.23-percent gain compared with the last year’s figure.
Port of Kavkaz is situated between the Azov and the Russian Black Sea coast. The 4.5-m-deep harborage allows handling river boats and seagoing ships (in the roads). The port’s loading berths facilities are intended for handling bulked cargoes (mineral fertilizer, concentrates of various ores, grain) as well as general, timber, and containerized commodities. In 2009, the port of Kavkaz’ stevedores handled 8,1 million tons and 2.500 ships.
