The volume of freight flows passing through the port of Nakhodka (Primorskiy Territory) in January-November fell by 1.6% versus last year’s figure to 14,25 million tons, PortNews reports citing the Nakhodka Port Authority.
In the 11-month period, oil products shipment rose by 0.4% to 6,399,000 tons, handling of anthracite grew by 22.3% to 2,67 million tons, ferrous metals volume fell by 16.3%, to 3,81 million tons, while nonferrous metals rose by 6.6% to 325,800 tons and transshipment of scrap metal surged by 53% to 162,400 tons, refrigerated cargoes shrank by 13% to 47,000 tons, packaged and break bulk goods gained 16.4% to 147,400 tons.
The port's container throughput slumped by 4.25 times to 1,832 TEUs.
In November, cargo throughput fell by 8.5% (vs last year’s digits) to 1,11 million tons.
Russian Port of Nakhodka is located in the northern Bay of Nakhodka. The year-round navigable Port is connected via Trans-Siberian Railroad with the railway network of Russia and Western Europe. In 2009, freight flows via Nakhodka Port rose 3.3% y-o-y, to 15,698m tons.
