MV Pacific Mermaid hits several ships at Novorossiysk port’s berths

The Liberia-flagged Pacific Mermaid motor ship, whose mooring ropes broke on December 11 at 15:09 at the birth N13 of Novorossiysk port, collided with other ships docked at the port - the Maltese ship Giorgos B and Hong Kong-flagged Beringos ID, the press service of Russian Ministry of Transport reported citing the State Maritime Rescue Coordination Center.

The tug Bodriy (ship owner NCSP Fleet) while assisting the Pacific Mermaid touched the emergency vessel.

According to preliminary reports, the merchant ships sustained minor damages in the incident: the lifeboats on board of the Pacific Mermaid, the Giorgos ID and the Beringos ID were damaged. Besides, the Beringos ID got a 20-meter dent in the bulwark. There were no injuries or spill reported during the incident.
