Singapore port’s cargo throughput up in Jan-Nov by 6.3% to 458,7m tons

Trade flows passing through the port of Singapore in January-November increased by 6.3% compared with the same period of last year to 458,69 million tons, the Port Authority statistics said. Crude oil shipments were down by 1.5% to 159,898 million tons.

The port's container traffic in the 11-month period rose by 10.4%  to 26,05 million TEUs.

In November, container throughput was up 3.8% from the last year’s period to 2 million 415 thousand TEUs.

Singapore is a city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2009, freight traffic at the port totaled 472 million tons.
