Helsinki Port posts 12% throughput gain for 11-month period, to 10,1m tons

Freight flows via the port of Helsinki (Finland) in January-November 2010 rose by 12% from the same period a year earlier to 10,136,000 tons, the Port Authority said.
Container volume at the port Helsinki in the reporting period increased by 13% to 341,479 TEUs, the volume of handling of Ro-Ro cargoes amounted to 449,601 units, up 13% over the same period of last year.

In November the port handled 925,000 tons of cargo, 32,492 TEUs of containers and 44,295 vehicles.

Port of Helsinki is one of the largest ports in Finland. Cargo throughput of the port of Helsinki in 2009 fell by 21% y-o-y to 8,6 million tons.
